Non-custodial
Tavate is a non-custodial wallet. Your private keys and recovery phrase are generated and stored on your device. We never receive, store or have access to them, and we cannot move your assets or recover them for you.
Information we collect
Information you give us, for example when you create an account, verify your identity, order a card or contact us:
- name, email address, phone number and residential address
- date of birth and nationality
- identity document details and photos or video taken during identity verification
- information about the source of your funds, where required
- messages and attachments you send to our support team
Information collected automatically when you use the Services:
- device and connection information, such as device model, operating system, app version, IP address and language settings
- usage and performance data, such as screens visited, features used, crash reports and diagnostics
- public blockchain addresses linked to your wallet and the transactions recorded on public blockchains
Information from partners: our card-issuing, payment, identity-verification and on-ramp partners may share with us information needed to provide their part of the Services, such as verification results, card status and transaction details.
How we use information
- to provide, maintain and improve the Services, including the wallet, the Tavate card and crypto purchases
- to verify your identity and meet legal obligations, including anti-money-laundering, sanctions and fraud-prevention requirements
- to process transactions and show you their status
- to provide customer support and send you service messages
- to keep the Services secure and investigate suspicious activity
- with your consent, to send you news and offers (you can opt out at any time)
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed with:
- licensed partners that issue the Tavate card, process payments or provide crypto purchases, so they can deliver their services to you
- identity-verification and fraud-prevention providers
- service providers that host our infrastructure, provide analytics or help us with support, under contracts that protect your information
- authorities, regulators or courts where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and of Tavate
- a buyer or successor if Tavate is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets
Our partners may process your information as independent controllers under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read when you use their services through Tavate.
International transfers
We and our partners may process your information in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
Retention
We keep personal information for as long as you use the Services and afterwards for as long as needed to meet legal, regulatory, tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Identity verification records may need to be kept for several years after your account is closed.

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is completely secure, so please keep your device, passcode and recovery phrase safe.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Children
The Services are not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
